she was funny then, and she's funny now.

once upon a time my older sister thought she was being funny and
dedicated this scripture to me.

turns out, it was pretty funny.
the end.

back to the beginning

my obsession for rollerblading has been reborn. i literally want to rollerblade everywhere. and i have.

there have been times i've biffed it in the middle of the intersection while blading across the street in front of the cars.  there have been times my breaks didn't work so i had to roll on the grass and fall to stop myself.  there have been times my charlie-horses have been so bad in my feet that i've had to stop and rip them off.  and there has been a time i have tried to show off in front of brad and ended up going into the splits and ripping every muscle in my inner area.  that being said, im never going running again.  i will strictly rollerblade.

my beautiful young women.

our stake young women were asked to sing in the choir for the general young woman's broadcast.

i glanced around the enormous conference center and immediately couldn't pull myself together.  thousands and thousands of incredibly beautiful young women every square inch of temple square. i can't describe the spirit i felt.

i felt so lucky to be in the conference center and listen to the talks.  i felt lucky to sit and listen to my beautiful young women sing in the choir. i felt blessed to be their leader. and inadequate to help them find out who they are, and who Heavenly Father wants them to be.  this gospel is inspired, i know it. i feel like the luckiest person to have been born into it. i never had to live a single day without knowing He is here with me.

we took the girls out for ice-cream after and i felt cozy sitting in there with them, talking about their lives (boys) and past stories. i wouldn't have wanted to spend my saturday night any different.

my favorite quote of the night was from pres. eyering:

"you are women of hope and our bright future, i am just simply here to remind you of that."

elizabeth's bakery

when we were in london we ate the most insanely delicious spread called clotted cream.
i have no idea what it's made out of, or how much cream is actually used to make this stuff.
it's as dense as butter and as good as.................nope, can't think of anything to compare it to.
it's unreal. we were hooked instantly.

after we got home from our trip one of the first things we did was walk over to
elizabeth's bakery and tea shop where they serve food and tea from england.
we thought we were the luckiest people on earth when we found out they serve clotted cream.

ever since we've been hooked. we had a picnic in the park yesterday
for lunch and then walked on over to elizabeth's for some happiness.
and it made us happy. undoubtedly happy.

ruth's diner

we owe a huge thanks to our good friends, caitlyn and james,
for introducing us to ruth's diner up immigration awhile back.
we went again this morning to get the week started good.  the food is out of this world.
brad got biscuits and gravy and i ordered the best eggs benedict i've ever tasted.

if you end up going, don't worry...feeling like your rolling out with an extra butt-cheek is normal.
the food is quite heavy.

and don't forget to enjoy the nice drive up immigration canyon that sets the mood for an "in the mountains diner" sorta feel.

army kids.

saturday morning i was asked to teach a kids group fitness for all the children of families in the military/army.
i asked brad to come along as my "assistant" and thank the heavens he did,
because they were seriously in love with him.
some of the girls were hanging all over him the entire time, it was so cute.
i'm glad one of us got the "good with kids" gene.

happy st. patty's day!

althought we don't really care that it's st. patty's day,
we still celebrated by making green eggs and...bacon.
with a side of apple cinnamon fiber one muffins that are starting to have their affect.

i didn't even wear green today.
but the eggs were the best little lunch for me and brad.
and we had fun pouring the dye in.
so thanks st. patrick for giving us a reason to eat green food.

i'm sure this is how a mom feels.

dear reese,

i was thinking about you today. your the craziest human i know. not girl, but actual human.
you have the energy of a dog that's just been let out of his cage, and a laugh that makes you feel like your the funniest person on earth. you don't know how to talk yet, but i know what your saying when you call me "dadda" and ask me to play the rap song "black and yellow".

i started thinking of your personality, and how with time it will change.  you will grow up and eventually start carrying about what people think of you. you won't stomp around like you own the place with your arm swinging, and jump on the trampoline like your trying to put holes through it.  you won't be super hyper when you take baths and you especially won't tickle your little boobies when you don't have a shirt on while running up and down the halls.

i wish i had a little cousin for you reese, but then that would mean i couldn't treasure you this much. and you wouldn't like me this much either. you would be too busy playing with your cousin.

i'm just so glad we're best friends.  i'm so happy i get to take in all of your personality and enjoy who you are at 2 years old with all my heart.

sincerely,
"dadda"

i met peter breinholt today

and i'm starting to feel gut sick guilty for all those years of making fun of his music.
of course he has to be one of the nicest guys i've met.

so for that small group of people who know what i'm talking about....let's all listen to our efy favorite, "a call i hear" to remember the good times of singing "see that little hill on the side of the town...".

been partying with my lester p.

i am extremely proud to say..since thursday i've been partying with this chick.
lester p. walsh (aka leslie my cousin).

it's been freaking fantastic. late nights, eating out more than my body is able, and shopping.
not to mention some good conversations of catching up.

it's a treat when she's here, especially with her cute little man i can't get enough of.
i'll post more later, but for now...we are too busy being lazy and chubby.

snowboarding.

dear snowboarding, i wish you weren't so freakin expensive so me and brad could go every weekend.

p.s. it was brads first time, and i honest to goodness have never seen a bare butt so bruised in my entire life.
literally black and blue bruised. there was even a time we were laying flat on our backs laughing so hard in the middle of the path because we were so tired from falling so much.

after we hit up a lodge for some burgers and let me tell you,
burgers have never tasted so good after being so tired.

reesie kisses.

the last couple of days all i feel like i've done is drive to south jordan,
teach and hang out with my family because all the classes i teach are conveniently close to my folks home.

poor brad.  he's always stuck at home studying.
i live for the weekends just for the soul purpose of getting to know my husband
all over again without school getting in the way.

me and jax hit up stacie's house the other night and we were all loving the mood reese was in.
so of course we couldn't take our lips off her.
i luff her and her spunky personality.
