never again will i miss a demolition derby

promise the whole time i was thinking that a demolition derby was a monster truck rally, so the entire time i was just waiting for the giant trucks to come out and run everyone over.
i can't even tell you how thrilled i was to be sitting there watching this. and when i say this, i mean the biggest pieces of shiz cars just running dead on to each other, and the best brand of people i can imagine.

the language was just.........................sickening. i can't think of any other time language like that would be appropriate. and yet for some reason, it seemed like we were out of place by not screaming obscurities at the smashing cars. everyone just yelling at the cars and each other, there was a beer in every hand and the cigarette smoke is honestly still lingering in my throat. and every time the man coughed behind me i was just waiting for something to shoot onto the back of my neck. it was the most hideous noise of a smokers cough i've heard in my lifetime.

...... i couldn't think of another place i would rather be. the night was a sick mess of a good time! if i only knew these things existed earlier in my life i'm sure i would have been converted to this lifestyle long ago.

i wish i could have shot some pictures of the people there, but honest to goodness i was scared of getting curbed if they noticed.

{scott and emily blended in like champs with their shirts}
if you do decide to go to one of these derby's, i only recommend going to the weber state fair. any other place just won't cut it. ogden is the experience you're looking for.

Awesome, truly awesome, I love those events, and really, I don't think anybody outside of Utah does it. I never heard of it before living there and I LOVED them. Good times...
